A Bit About Me...
Hi there!!
I'm Annie, the easily forgotten middle child of 5, a first generation college student hailing from a Tiger mom and Vietnamese household. My favorite color is Marigold or Dandelion Yellow!
Growing up, I've always been drawn to the fictional characters presented to me through cable, books, and video games which has kept me company for the majority of my childhood while my busy single mother raised us all on her own for the most part. Since my mom has been constantly absent for most of my childhood, it was always whatever was on the T.V and computer screen that would end up keeping me and my siblings company.
Characters like Michelangelo from TMNT, Shaggy and Scooby from Scooby Doo, or Sokka and Toph from Avatar the Last Airbender hold a very special place in my toddler heart. The shows, books, and games I grew up with taught me how complicated the world really is through the emotional and comedic snippets of action-packed adventures these characters had and how they chose to deal with their hardships.
All together, they've taught me to be mindful in how my actions could greatly impact my life and those around me, negative or positive.
Now, as an artist aspiring to be a creator of something that goes beyond the cages of my mind, I enjoy creating fantastical worlds with my own complex and unique structures that my characters have to navigate through. My portfolio of ever non-consistent and eclectic art styles are my love letter to the many artists and creations I've been inspired by!
Through my art, I'd like for it to one day be the catalyst for someone to also slow down and become introspective- to encourage a shift in their perspectives on a subject, whether big or small, in a way that would promote their own personal journey and growth, however that may evolve to become for them!
P.S: Also, my current obsession is Bluey, which I'd highly recommend if you haven't seen it already :)
